IGRAC contribution to transboundary aquifers seminar at UN in New York

On October 17th, a seminar on ‘Groundwater Resources and the Law of Transboundary Aquifers’ was held at the United Nations headquarters in New York. IGRAC Director Neno Kukuric was invited to present IGRAC’s transboundary groundwater activities during this seminar that was organised by UNESCO-IHP, the EU delegation to the UN and the Slovak Mission to highlight the importance of groundwater resources and transboundary aquifers in the framework of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6 on water.

IGRAC Researchers win VACI Best Paper Award 2016

Geert-Jan Nijsten has won the VACI Best Paper Award 2016 for the paper "A multi-disciplinary approach and tools for comparative and in-depth assessments of transboundary aquifers" he has written together with Nienke Ansems, Neno Kukuric and Alice Aureli. The paper was awarded during the 5th Vietnam wAter Cooperation Initiative (VACI) symposium, which was held on 3-5 October 2016 in Hanoi, Vietnam.   

IGRAC presentations on monitoring, SIDS and Climate Change during IAH Congress

From 25 till 29 September, the 43rd IAH International Congress was held in Montpellier, France. IGRAC Researcher Andreas Antoniou was present at this annual event organised by the International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH) and gave presentations on the role of Small Island Developing States (SIDS) within the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the role of monitoring information technology for international cooperation and studies.
