IGRAC was invited by the Department of Groundwater Resources from Thailand to lecture in a training course on groundwater governance. The training course marked the closure of a project on groundwater governance conducted by the department. The training took place from 2 to 4 July in Bangkok.
From 6 to 9 June 2018, the 'Symposium KARST 2018: Expect the Unexpected' was held in Trebinje, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Prior to this symposium, the 5th edition of the International Course and Field seminar “Characterization and Engineering of Karst Aquifers” took place in Trebinje and Virpazar (Montenegro). IGRAC Director Neno Kukurić contributed to both events.
IGRAC has contributed to a special journal issue of 'Sustainable Water Resources Management'. In this special issue on Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR) in Integrated Water Management, IGRAC contributed to the article: 'Web-based global inventory of managed aquifer recharge applications'. All articles are open access and can be downloaded here.
On 26-28 September 2018, the first SADC Groundwater Conference will be held in Johannesburg, South Africa, and IGRAC is one of the coorganisers of this event. The main theme of this annual conference will be: 'Adapting to Climate Change in the SADC Region through Water Security - A Focus on Groundwater'.
