SADC-GWdataCoM closing workshop and launch of Framework for data collection and data management

On 24 and 25 June, the Southern Africa Development Community Groundwater Management Institute (SADC-GMI) hosted the closing workshop for the project Capacity Building For Data Collection And Management In SADC Member States (SADC-GWdataCoM). IGRAC as lead implementing organisation, together with project partner the Institute for Groundwater Studies (IGS), and SADC-GMI presented the outcomes of the SADC-GWdataCoM project that was implemented between September 2017 and April 2019.

New Water on Tap season kicked off with event on Groundwater

On Tuesday 25 June 2019, about fifty attendants joined the first Water on Tap event of 2019. This session was dedicated to ‘Groundwater: The Invisible Resource’ and was the first in a series of four Water on Tap events. Water on Tap is powered by IHE Delft and IGRAC, and has the aim to bring water-related topics under the attention of the general public in a less formal setting.

Stocktaking and strategizing on transboundary aquifer work

On 22 September 2019, the IAH Commission on Transboundary Aquifers (TBAs) will organize a strategy workshop that will take place at the Centre of Hydrogeology, University of Malaga, in Malaga, Spain. This pre-conference at the 46th IAH International Congress will be a critical stocktaking of the work and outcomes achieved so far in terms of addressing transboundary aquifers (TBAs) and the special challenges and opportunities these water resources present.
