After a successful first edition in 2018, SADC-GMI organised its second Groundwater Conference on 4-6 September 2019 in Johannesburg, South Africa. During this conference with the overarching theme ‘Groundwater Contribution to SDGs in the SADC region’, IGRAC presented the SADC Framework for Groundwater Data Collection and Management.
Currently, the NOEVA project that aimed at assessing the groundwater resources of the Greater-Cotonou area (Benin) is in its final stage. This projectconsisted of a hydrogeochemical study and the innovative coupling of two geophysical methods.
GRIPP has launched its new groundwater infographic ‘Groundwater - Critical for Sustainable Development’ during the 2nd SADC-GMI Groundwater Conference in Johannesburg, South Africa. As GRIPP partner, IGRAC was represented during the launch of this infographic that aims to show the importance of good management to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
On Tuesday 27 August 2019, IGRAC received a visit from a Malaysian delegation. The representatives from Krieter Water & Environment were eager to learn more about IGRAC's main activities, particularly those on groundwater monitoring within the framework of the Global Groundwater Monitoring Network (GGMN).
