The Socio-Hydrogeology Network of the International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH-SHG) was recently launched to promote the integration of social science into hydrogeology. One of its first actions to promote this integration has been the initiative for a special issue of the open access journal Water. For this special issue on 'Socio-Hydrogeology in Groundwater Resources Assessments and Management', a call for manuscripts was launched with a submission deadline of  30 April 2021.

From 20 to 24 April, a workshop was held on Data Storage Solutions, with a particular focus on Southern Africa. This online workshop was organised as part of an USAID sponsored programme on ‘big data analytics and transboundary water collaboration’. The programme is divided in four themes (projects) and IGRAC is involved in theme 1 on Big data for Groundwater Management.
