The International Groundwater Resource Assessment Centre (IGRAC) is looking for a groundwater specialist, with expertise on groundwater quality, to integrate its team based in Delft, The Netherlands.

Groundwater management and sustainable solutions for food and nature

In the final segment of the side event, Special Envoy for International Water Affairs Henk Ovink compared the three case studies, tried to find similarities and identify common messages. One common message was that bottom-up actions are very powerful to engage policy makers. They can trigger changes and influence policy (regulation and law). 

UN-Water Summit on Groundwater 2022 concludes a year of groundwater awareness raising

On 7-8 December 2022, the water world gathered in Paris for the first ever UN-Water Summit on Groundwater. This high-level event coordinated by IGRAC and UNESCO-IHP hosted 800 on-site and over 3,500 online participants and was the last milestone within the framework of the ‘Groundwater, making the invisible visible’ theme of World Water Day 2022. Besides the event coordination, IGRAC was also well represented within the programme.

Launch of the Transboundary Water Cooperation Coalition

On December 8th, the Transboundary Water Cooperation Coalition was officially launched at the Groundwater Summit, in Paris. This Coalition is a multistakeholder partnership of over 30 governments and organisations aiming at inspiring concrete actions and commitments to advance transboundary water cooperation worldwide. With water stress on the rise in shared river and lake basins, as well as transboundary aquifers, it is time to do more!

Within the Coalition, IGRAC will promote additional efforts in transboundary groundwater assessment and management.
