In the December issue of its UPDATE Magazine, UNESCO-IHE published an interview with IGRAC Director Dr. Neno Kukurić. In 1993, he obtained his Master's Degree in Hydrological Engineering at this institute and was therefore invited for an alumni interview to look back at his time at UNESCO-IHE. "It was much more difficult to say goodbye to IHE than to embrace it," he recalls.

In this alumni interview, Neno Kukurić emphasises that his MSc Programme at UNESCO-IHE, then known as IHE Delft, had a major impact on his career. "The successful completion of this programme increased my ambitions and gave me the confidence that I had a solid basic knowledge to embark on further research and address practical problems." He quickly recognized the value of a diploma from the Institute: "The UNESCO-IHE MSc diploma (with distinction) was an important part of an admission ticket to some renowned institutions I joined after my graduation from IHE."

IGRAC

Twenty-one years later Kukurić is leading IGRAC, which is coincidentally located in the same building as ‘his old institute'. In 2011, IGRAC became a UNESCO centre and moved to the UNESCO-IHE building. "It was like coming back home," he says. "This building keeps the dreams of generations."
