On 20-21 May 2014, an ecohydrology workshop and steering committee meeting was organised, which served as a start-up of the eighth phase of the UNESCO International Hydrological Programme (IHP). During this workshop of one and a half days, held in Paris - France, UNESCO category 1 and 2 Water Centres presented how their activities contribute to the main theme of this meeting. In addition, these centres participated in discussions on cooperation with related international programmes. IGRAC was represented during this workshop.

From 22-24 July, a Regional Workshop for Western and Central Africa was organised in Dakar, Senegal. This was the fourth regional meeting for the Groundwater component of the Transboundary Waters Assessment Programme (TWAP). Previous workshops were held in Berlin (Germany) for Europe, Montevideo (Uruguay) with representatives from most American countries and Nairobi (Kenya) with representatives of Eastern and Southern Africa.

From 15 to 19 September 2014, the IAH International Congress will be held in Marrakech, Morocco. The main theme of this 41st edition of the congress, jointly organised by the Moroccan Committee of the International Association of Hydrogeologists (CM-AIH) and the International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH), will be 'Groundwater: Challenges and Strategies'.
